Settings

Auto picks a USB input when one is plugged in. Plug the lav in before opening the app, or press Refresh.

Mono inputs ignore this.

Measures the whole take and scales it so its loudest peak lands at the target, so it cannot clip. The take stored in the app is never changed. Boost is capped at +40 dB. Noise rises with the voice; use 32-bit float for no added rounding.

Files are named prefix_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.wav

For trying the app on a PC before using it on the phone. Shows a TEST badge and diagnostics, and lets you shorten the time limit and preview the phone screen size. Keyboard: Space starts recording, hold Space to stop. Press F5 while recording to simulate a crash, then check the take is recovered.

Checking offline status…

Audio is recorded with Android’s echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain requested off, at the input’s native sample rate, mono. There is no digital gain. Set the level on the lav or transmitter.

While recording, the screen stays on and the controls are locked. Hold the stop button to stop. Recording stops automatically at 10:00. Audio is written to storage every second, so a crash or closed app loses at most about a second. Interrupted takes are recovered automatically next time the app opens.

Takes live inside this app’s storage. Save copies a WAV to Downloads. Clearing Chrome’s site data deletes takes that have not been saved.

Microphone blocked here

Android Chrome only allows microphone access on a page served over HTTPS (or from localhost). A file opened from phone storage cannot record.

Open the app once from its HTTPS address, install it to the home screen, and wait for “Offline ready”. After that it runs without internet.
